This policy applies to all practising therapists attending CPD courses offered by Integrated Changeworks, as well as the trainers and staff supporting these activities.

Responsibilities

Organisation Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional, secure, and user-friendly online learning platform.

  • Ensure course content and delivery consider the emotional well-being of participants.

  • Offer clear guidelines for safe practice and application of techniques.

  • Provide resources to support participants' well-being during and after training.

Trainer Responsibilities

  • Facilitate training with sensitivity to the professional and emotional needs of experienced therapists.

  • Provide structured and clearly defined exercises to ensure safe skill application.

  • Recognise signs of participant distress and offer appropriate support or signposting to professional services.

  • Emphasise ethical practice and boundaries during CPD activities.

Participant Responsibilities

  • Ensure a comfortable, private, and distraction-free environment for learning.

  • Take regular breaks to minimise fatigue and maintain focus.

  • Inform trainers of any personal circumstances that might affect engagement in practical exercises.

  • Practise new skills responsibly, adhering to professional standards and within their scope of practice.

Key Health and Safety Considerations for CPD Training

1. Emotional Well-Being

  • Advanced techniques or case discussions may evoke strong emotional responses. Participants are encouraged to pause or withdraw if necessary and access support if needed.

  • Trainers will provide debrief opportunities after exercises to process experiences and promote closure.

2. Ethical Practice

  • Practical exercises will include clear instructions on maintaining professional boundaries and ethical standards.

  • Participants will be reminded to adapt techniques appropriately when integrating them into their own practices.

3. Privacy and Confidentiality

  • Online sessions will maintain a secure and confidential environment.

  • Participants are expected to respect the confidentiality of discussions, role-plays, and case examples shared during training.

4. Ergonomics and Workspace

  • Participants should set up a private, comfortable workspace, free from interruptions.

Incident Reporting

Therapists are encouraged to report any health, safety, or well-being concerns to Integrated Changeworks at james@ichangeworks.com. All concerns will be addressed confidentially and resolved promptly.

Review and Updates

This policy will be reviewed annually or as necessary to ensure it continues to meet the needs of professional therapists engaging in CPD training.
